Blue Stars is what happens when four friends from different corners of
the Athens scene decide to start a band just for the fun of it. Claire
Campbell, Andrea DeMarcus, Joe Rowe, and Dan Nettles, each a
songwriter with their own orbit, began meeting a few times a month to
share new tunes, build parts for each other, and see what kind of
light might spill out. Now Blue Stars is everyone’s favorite band
(other than Hopeforagoldensummer, Cicada Rhythm, the Glands and
Kenosha Kid, of course).

It’s a side project, sure, but the kind that takes on a life of its
own. Every voice changes the song, every song changes the band. The
sound drifts somewhere between folk, pop, and dream logic. It’s a bit
familiar, but a little mysterious, like a melody you almost remember.
With no agenda and no grand plan, Blue Stars is four songwriters
chasing the spark that only happens together.
