Over the past 10 years, Nicholas Mallis and the Borealis have been consistently bringing their brand of weirdo pop to Athens and beyond. They incorporate elements of new wave, post punk, disco, and surf rock and pack it all into an engaging live show that walks the line of absurdity. Mallis has shared bills with indie greats like Dan Deacon and Kishi Bashi and even played as a side man in the solo efforts of Athens legends Cindy Wilson and Fred Schneider (The B-52’s).
In Glide Magazine’s review, they state that Nicholas’ music “feels like it came from the late 70s or early 80s during the creative, left-of-the-dial burst in alternative music while also sounding fresh and original.”
