Southam: Formed in November 2016 amid the Smoky Mountain wildfires, Southam took shape on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in Northeast Georgia, with drifting smoke setting the backdrop for a band just beginning to find its footing. What started as a casual gathering to learn songwriting quickly grew into something more intentional.
Rooted in indie rock, Southam blends thoughtful lyricism with warm, lived-in melodies. The band—Logan, Dylan, and Seth—draws influence from Kings of Leon, All Get Out, Pedro the Lion, Pinegrove, John Prine, Christian Lee Hutson, and the Bible.
At its core, Southam makes music for one simple reason: they love it—and without it, they’d probably go a little crazy.
album bio: Wrestler is a documentation (as songs should be) of where one has been, longs to be, and doesn’t want to be anymore—with themselves, friends, family, and God. It’s nostalgic and existential. It’s the struggle of not having anything figured out and how to feel about it. The goal was to be honest with each song, lyrically and in production.
Griffin Duffey is writing songs in Greenville, SC.
Noah Bowen: This is Noah's first show and he's a dear friend of Southam. We just want to give him the space to try his songs out for a forgiving crowd!
