Singer-songwriter duo Patrick Walsh and Andrew Clarke began writing and performing music under the name Tennis Courts while attending college together in Charleston, SC and relocated to Brooklyn, NY soon after graduating. With an ever-fluctuating lineup of friends and musicians, the pair made a name for themselves in the beer-lit apartments and bars of Brooklyn with their raw and rowdy brand of indie rock. Drawing on a wide range of influences from Big Star to Big Thief, Tennis Courts sits comfortably on the fence between power pop glitz and alt-country gloom.
Homemade Haircuts is a four-piece indie rock outfit from Columbia, South Carolina. Originally a bedroom recording project, the group has developed its energetic live sound through years of touring the Southeast.
After years of connecting with audiences through their earnest rock songs, the band is adopting a brash new persona. The band’s newest single, “Clown”, veers away from their usual brand of melancholy, instead wryly weaving together societal observations with circus imagery. Musically, the band is opting for bolder sounds and crisper production than ever, largely thanks to the influence of producer Tommy Trautwein. “Clown” is a response to the naysayers of the world, and a proclamation of the unorthodox confidence necessary to chase one’s dreams.
